All three works were featured together in an evening of one-acts. The lighting tries to capture the range of the sun and sky that serves as the backdrops for these plays, following the course of from mid-afternoon through sunset to night. The hot, arid Texas summer and the iconic Fire Island sunset were inspirational touchstones.

by James McClure The Jameson Project, 2009 Director: Matthew Singletary Set Designer: Gennie Neuman Costume Designer: Stefanie Genda Lighting Designer: Elaine Wong Production Stage Manager: Norah Schienman One of two companion pieces by James McClure, Laundry and Bourbon looks at the lives of three housewives: Elizabeth, Hattie and Amy Lee. Although the small-town life in Maynard, Texas seems the same day after day, Elizabeth's husband Roy is a different man after returning home from Vietnam -- a man Elizabeth doesn't understand but loves regardless. Even when Amy Lee comes to rub Elizabeth's nose in Roy's wild, unfaithful behaviour, Elizabeth's demure and steadfast love for him remains unshakeable.
Lone Star
by James McClure The Jameson Project, 2009 Director: Melissa Firlit Set Designer: Gennie Neuman Costume Designer: Stefanie Genda Lighting Designer: Elaine Wong Production Stage Manager: Nicholas Chacon The pair to Laundry and Bourbon, Lone Star follows Roy and his brother Ray as they spend a night out on the town. Out back behind a bar, their conversation ranges from philosophy to candy bars to football, though Ray's concern over his brother's erratic behaviour is an undercurrent. The brothers' familial love is put to the test when Ray admits to taking Roy's place with Elizabeth during the war. And, to top it off, Ray covers for Cletis Fullernoy, Amy Lee's husband, who has wrecked Roy's prized pink Thunderbird.

by Lisa-Marie Radano The Jameson Project, 2009 Director: Louis Wells Set Designer: Gennie Neuman Costume Designer: Brigid Johnson Lighting Designer: Elaine Wong Production Stage Manager: Kristen Greene A short play set during a vibrant Fire Island sunset, in which a group of friends come together to mourn the passing of a friend. Ranging from quirky pregnancy jokes to a heartfelt longing, the friends put aside their rocky pasts and end with a touching, if reluctant, rendition of Abba's 'Take a Chance'.
